FrightTown Eastside is a community driven, family-friendly haunted house. Two years ago, a 7-yr-old boy dreamed up a "Haunted Hogwarts" garage haunt to raise money to fight homelessness. Since then we've had more than 2,000 people come through our "mini haunt", and have raised over $15k for local non-profits.
THE NEED:
We've outgrown the garage! We're expanding to the historic Red Barn Farm in Redmond this October and need materials to make it happen. These supplies will be reused for years to come.
- Wood, paint, and construction materials to build 12 sets (up from 5)
- Additional sound & lighting equipment to bring the new sets to life
- Materials to make props
- Fliers and posters to raise awareness of the haunted house
HOW TO HELP:
All donations are greatly appreciated - so is spreading the word by sharing this on social media! If you're interested in corporate sponsorship or volunteering, please email Jessica Devine at frighttowneastside@gmail.com for more information.
GIVING BACK:
Entirely volunteer based, 100% of our profits are granted out to local non-profits. In the past we've supported local nonprofits Giving Hope Project, Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park, and Kids Coming Together. This year’s proceeds will support the 501(c)3 animal sanctuary at Red Barn Farm, and also be granted out to nonprofits in the local community. We'll be recruiting an advisory board to help drive our grantmaking; please reach out if you'd like to help us build an inclusive and equitable approach to maximize benefit!
OUR MISSION:
The haunted house is only part of our purpose. Our goals are to:
- Build and deepen community ties by bringing together individuals and existing community groups in fresh, fun ways
- Create an engaging experience where teen volunteers are exposed to the arts, feel the pride of meaningful community service, and build real-world career skills
- Offer a memorable, family-friendly theatrical experience to the broad community that is accessible to all
We are especially grateful to our many community partners, first and foremost Sammamish Friends, our fiscal sponsor. FrightTown Eastside is a Sponsored Program of Sammamish Friends, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Your gift maybe be tax deductible pursuant to 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code.
