We are reaching out to you with an appeal to support the creation of Empathy High School-Mayuge, a crucial initiative in my community in Eastern Uganda. Our goal is to provide secondary education opportunities for vulnerable children who, despite completing primary education, face significant barriers to accessing further schooling.

The lack of accessible Secondary Education in my community has led to high rates of teen pregnancies, school dropouts, and illiteracy rates. Community conflicts among various families are prevalent; this affects the children as they grow up. Empathy Children Initiative aims to address this pressing issue by offering a safe and supportive learning environment for these children, empowering them with the knowledge and skills they need to build a better future for themselves and their families.

One of the fundamental principles of Empathy High School is the implementation of restorative justice, specifically through the concept of Unitive Justice. This theory promotes understanding, empathy, and reconciliation among individuals, fostering a conflict-free society. By embracing unitive justice, we strive to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

However, we cannot achieve this vision without the support of our community. We urgently need your help to make Empathy High School a reality. Your donation will directly contribute to building the school infrastructure, including a clinic and a water source that will also serve the community.

Together, we can break the cycle of poverty and inequality by giving vulnerable children the opportunity they deserve to receive a quality education. Your contribution, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and our community as a whole.

Update (June 2024):

We're happy to let you know that the foundation of the classroom block is now laid, and construction has begun on a reliable water source that will as well serve the community with safe water. These tangible signs of progress represent more than just bricks and mortar – they symbolize hope, opportunity, and a chance for vulnerable children to break the cycle of poverty through education.
