PMCCP's 23rd Walk for Kids

At Pike Market Child Care and Preschool [PMCCP], we believe all children deserve access to high quality child care, early learning, support, and healthy nutrition. Located in the heart of the Market, since 1982, our non-profit ensures early educational equity by being inclusive of families from all economic backgrounds and circumstances.

PMCCP will hold our 23rd Walk for Kids on Saturday, May 18^th, 2024 after a hiatus due to the pandemic. We are dedicating this year's parade to the memory of PMCCP's advocate and supporter, DeeAnn Burman, who was instrumental in leading the advocacy efforts in launching our newly remodeled playground and outdoor learning space. During this event, over 100 parents, family members, and friends of PMCCP will parade through Pike Place Market culminating in a kid-friendly event at the Market Atrium. Will you support our wonderful Walk for Kids event by attending the event, providing a donation, sponsorship or building a fundraising team?

9:00 AM: Registration & T-Shirt Pick up at PMCCP's Playground at 1531 Western Avenue
10:00 AM: Walk for Kids Parade from the Playground through the Market to the Atrium
10:30 AM: Music, Dance, and Face Painting at The Atrium!
11:45 AM: Event Ends

Attend the Event:

If you would like to attend the Walk for Kids, please register for a ticket (one per attendee) by clicking the button "Attend or Sponsor the Event!". Walk for Kids tickets are on a sliding scale "Pay What You Can" basis to ensure the WALK is accessible to all who wish to join us. We will also offer in-person registration on the day of the event, May 18th, at 9:00am at the PMCCP playground as well as on the day prior at our Pre-Registration Table (see below for more details). Attendees who register on the day of the event may not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

When: Friday, May 17, 2024 between 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM.

Free Ticket: Participate in-person at the event for free and receive a 2024 Walk for Kids T-Shirt!
Ticket with Donation: Participate in-person at the event and contribute $5-25 to PMCCP. Your donation will assist in covering event expenses and T-shirt production costs.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR SHIRT SIZING:While we will do our best to ensure you receive a T-shirt in your requested size, we cannot guarantee the exact size you receive or that you will receive a t-shirt if you register after May 2nd, 2024. Attendees who register on the day of the event may not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

T-Shirt Pick-Up: You can pick up your shirt on the day of the event at the PMCCP playground at 9:00 AM or you can pick up at our Pre-Registration Table on the Friday before the event, May 17th, at Pike Market Child Care and Preschool between 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM.

Build A Fundraising Team:

Help spread the word and raise money for the Walk for Kids by building a fundraising team or individual campaign! Click the button above that says "Fundraise for the Event" to get started.

Sponsor the Event:

Sponsorship levels are named after our classrooms! Each level brings a unique package of recognition benefits that reach an audience of thousands from the Seattle area, many of whom live and/or work in the downtown core. Benefits include mentions on social media, logo placement that will have a prolonged run in the month prior to the event, and more. These benefits are outlined under each sponsorship level in the itemized ticket options when you click button 'Attend or Sponsor the Event!"

Note: please send your business logo to kaya@pikemarketkids.org by 4/25 if you would like it to be included on the Walk for Kids t-shirt. Logos received after 4/25 will not be included on the shirt due to shirt production timelines, but they will still be visually promoted at the Walk in other ways.

PMCCP's mission is to make high-quality early learning and healthy nutrition accessible to families of all backgrounds, regardless of income. WALK contributions will continue to support our school in creating a community of belonging rich in racial, socio-economic, gender, and language diversity. Your contribution makes it possible for us to fulfill a crucial part of our mission in assisting PMCCP families in need of tuition support.
