Until the age of 5, Sasha was growing slowly but steadily, and his family and doctors believed he’d catch up. However, when the difference between Sasha’s height and the height of his peers reached 20 cm and he stopped growing, the complete hormonal examination and brain MRI confirmed pituitary dwarfism.
This rare genetic disease can’t be prevented, but luckily, it responds to medical correction with hormones. The required dose of hormones increases depending on age and weight and needs to be injected daily until the growth zones are closed, i.e. approximately up to 18 years of age.
By now, the 10th year of Sasha’s treatment is soon to start and 70% of the necessary therapy is already injected. Sasha’s results are really striking, he is 1.55 m high and is strong enough to play for a local football team, just like his hero Leo Messi diagnosed with the same disease.
Indeed, in case of continuous hormonal treatment, Sasha’s internal organs will develop correctly and function like those of a healthy person, meaning that he has a 99% chance of living a healthy and fulfilling life and even becoming a football star!
However, the daily dose of ZOMACTON growth hormone now costs 45$, which is almost $16,500 per year - the unattainable amount for a Ukrainian family under current political circumstances. So Sasha’s mom turned for our help, and we believe it will be timely.
The treatment cannot be interrupted.
Let’s support Sasha’s growth together by supplying him with the required doses of ZOMACTON!
