Can you help us alleviate stress for the youth inside the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center who are awaiting trial, sometimes for up to two years?

Before the pandemic, we were able to offer Reiki sessions to staff and several residents of the Cook County JTDC to help bring peace to this stressful environment. Following this introduction, we were able to teach a Reiki class to six residents, two directors, and the two security guards assigned to us for the day. This class enabled attendees to to access Reiki as a form of self care for life. 

The program was a huge success (you can read all about it here), and we would like to expand upon it. The goal is to provide:

 • Six, three-hour visits to the facility to offer Reiki sessions to as many residents and staff as possible

 • Three Reiki Level 1 classes to give attendees access to Reiki on their own, forever
