Continuing the Momentum Toward Our $55,000 Goal
As we continue our journey past another successful Red Ribbon Day, we are immensely grateful for the support and participation of our community. This year, we've set an ambitious goal to raise $55,000 by Giving Tuesday on December 3rd, and we need your help to make it happen.
Why Your Support Matters
Red Ribbon Day is more than just an annual event; it's a year-round commitment to preventing substance use, supporting recovery and supporting mental health and wellbeing in our community. Your donations help us provide essential programs and services that make a real difference in the lives of thousands across Union County and beyond.
How You Can Help:
- Donate:Every contribution brings us closer to our $55,000 goal. Whether large or small, your donation makes a significant impact.
- Fundraise:Take your involvement a step further by starting your own fundraiser on behalf of Prevention Links. Fundraisers receive prizes for participating, like custom hoodies, gift cards, and more as outlined in the fundraising guide.
- Spread the Word:Share our campaign with friends and family, or on social media. Let others know how they can help support a healthier, safer community.
- Stay Engaged:Follow us on social media and our website for updates on how your contributions are being used and for more ways to get involved.
Giving Tuesday: A Day of Generosity
As we approach Giving Tuesday, remember that this global day of giving is a chance to stand together and make a real impact. Let’s use this opportunity to advance our mission and reach our fundraising goal together!
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Prevention Links. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier community.

History of Red Ribbon
Red Ribbon Week is an annual awareness campaign in the United States that takes place in October to raise awareness and prevent alcohol, tobacco, smoking, and other drugs and violence. The campaign began in 1985 as a tribute to DEA special agent Enrique Camerena, who was killed in the line of duty. The DEA says that Red Ribbon Week is the country's longest-running and largest drug awareness and prevention program
Where does my fundraiser money go?
Great question! Funds raised individually or by your team go towards:
- Our Walker Fund which pays for walker registrations for individuals without means to pay;
- Supply and entertainment costs for the FREE Family Fun Festival which follows the walk;
- Our Recovery Community Centers and Family Success Centers
- Leftover funds go towards supporting Prevention Links free community programs
Who can I contact if I have questions?
Please reach out to our Communications & Development Coordinator, Madeline Desrosiers, at mdesrosiers@preventionlinks.org
