📚 Join the Fun – Change a Child’s Story! 📚

Men across Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana Counties are stepping up (and growing out!) to support early childhood literacy through Beards for Books. Whether they’re growing a new beard or putting their current one on the line, these champions are raising funds to provide free books to local children through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

How It Works:

✔️ Grow or Shave: Participants pledge to grow a beard in March OR put their current beard on the line to be shaved if they meet their fundraising goal.
✔️ Raise Funds: Champions use social media, workplace networks, and email to rally support for childhood literacy.
✔️ Have Fun: Participants share beard updates, memes, and fun literacy facts throughout the month.
✔️ Shave-Off Celebration: The fundraiser wraps up with an exciting community event featuring live shaves by a local barber!

Why It Matters:

📖 6,000 children across Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana Counties receive free books each month thanks to this program.
💰 Just $32 provides a child with a full year of books—one high-quality book delivered to their home every month.
📚 Early access to books builds vocabulary, boosts kindergarten readiness, and lays the foundation for lifelong learning.
