Dear Friends and Family,

A significant piece of my journey to becoming a bar mitzvah is being involved in a community-oriented project where I can make a difference. It is meaningful to become a Jewish adult in a time where unfortunately Jewish people are targets of hate and terror.  I am saddened to hear the stories of the families that have been devastated by violence and think it is important to give them support and hope.  I feel blessed to be able to celebrate my Bar Mitzvah milestone with family and friends and want to give to those who are dealing with loss, emotional trauma and financial hardship by raising money for the OneFamily organization.

OneFamily supports and empowers victims of terror and bereaved families through services such as immediate emergency response, therapeutic, financial, legal and medical assistance, and advocacy.  Through this organization I am able to match with a teen in Israel and sponsor their Bar or Bat mitzvah party, provide support services for the bereaved, or provide necessities for those who feel hardship in their daily lives.

OneFamily’s mission is to champion the rights and needs of Israel’s victims of terror, and to ensure their rehabilitation and reintegration. We bring Israel’s victims of terror together into one national, self-supportive family.  Our vision is to positively affect the rehabilitation of each victim of terror and their family, as well as to empower each victim to achieve their emotional and financial independence. To achieve these goals, OneFamily provides a uniquely comprehensive blend of financial and legal assistance, as well as a variety of holistic emotionally therapeutic programs which are tailor-made for each person, and delivered in our hallmark “family” atmosphere of togetherness that the victims have come to love and trust.  

At OneFamily we share happy and sad moments together, creating a platform allowing growth, pain, tears and even laughter. Family is not about blood. It’s about who’s willing to hold your hand when you need it the most. We cannot put the pieces of their lives back together for them, but we can stand beside them to guide them every step of the way as they travel the long road of recovery.
