The Private Service Resiliency Initiative

General campaign

03.02.25 Update: We're now focusing on putting together a program for business clothing. While many families now have the basics, they need appropriate professional attire for interviewing. This stage involves 3 processes: We need volunteers to buy / receive clothing, someone to distribute directly to PSPs in the LA area, and  we'll need help on the back end to log and record distribution. Donations at this stage help get this program started and purchase new clothing.

02.03.25 Update: The EMN Private Service Resiliency Initiative launches The Career Rebuilding Phase. We’ve launched a free job board to connect Los Angeles-area private service professionals with new opportunities. Agencies can post jobs for free for six months, with listings amplified on our social media channels. Together, we’re helping private service professionals rebuild their careers and regain stability.

We now move to raise funds for job training and placement assistance. We aim to cover training programs for domestic staff to transition to commercial equivalent roles and eliminate agency placement fees.

01.13.24 Update: 👞 👠 👟 We’re hosting a shoe drive!! 👢 👠 👡 Los Angeles shelters have been requesting shoe donations, so we're stepping up and will be using our next round of donations for shoes. Your $25 donation helps us provide new footwear to those in need. Many people lost everything in the fires. There are so many people in flip flops at the shelters with 40 degree weather at night - if you can, please help support this effort. Every little bit makes a big difference to someone!

The Private Service Resiliency Initiative is dedicated to supporting displaced private service professionals impacted by recent fires. Through direct donations and strategic partnerships with private service organizations, this program focuses on providing immediate relief, career services, and building a resilient private service community.

When you donate, we have a team on the ground ready to buy supplies to donate to the Westwood Recreation Center, which is serving as the local hub for relief efforts and shelter for many who worked in the Palisades and Malibu who do not have the means to immediately re-shelter, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation to provide supplies for their crews who have served tirelessly for days. After the vital needs are met, future donations will support long-term recovery efforts for our industry, funding strategic planning and outreach to maximize the impact of PSRI and its partnerships.

Our goal is to facilitate strategic planning, marketing, and outreach to amplify the impact of organizations providing direct support to displaced private service professionals.

Here are some ideas for how you can contribute:

Domestic Staffing Agencies: Prioritize placements for affected individuals, partner with out-of-area agencies, and collaborate with alternative, non-residential employers to secure positions for domestic staff.

Estate Management and Property Management Companies, Private Clubs, Hotels, and Hospitality Venues: Waive direct industry experience requirements in favor of crossover skills and capabilities; work with domestic placement agencies for staffing needs.

Hospitality Training and Certification Organizations: Provide free or discounted training to help private service professionals upskill to enter the non-residential workforce.

Industry Partners, Vendors, and Service Providers: Match donations, create employee giving campaigns, or sponsor a recovery effort.

Together, we can rebuild lives, restore stability, and strengthen the private service community. Donate or partner with us today to make an immediate difference.
