Set in rural Florida in the early 2000s, Faustus is a queer woman who has sworn off her religious community to aspire towards omnipotence, the wasteland of her hurricane-torn hometown as her playground. While enlisting Hell’s help to achieve power and greatness, Faustus finds a lover in Mephistophilis, the fallen angel who she has conjured to do her ambitious bidding. This love story devolves from hedonistic honeymoon into a swan song for Faustus, having bargained away her soul to Lucifer.
