The Quentin Walston Trio brings high energy sets of straight-ahead classics and inventive originals that entertain all circles of jazz lovers. Quentin Walston, on piano, is joined by the virtuosic Daniel Kelly II on drums and the highly-talented Jeff Cuny on bass, both of whom take each song to new heights. The Moore Street School Foundation is committed to promoting and fosteringa love of jazz and gospel music in the Richmond Community. Artist Bio:Quentin Walston is an active composer, pianist, and music educator from the Washington D C area. He performs with his jazz trio and as a solo pianist, blending memorable melodies and striking rhythms with adventurous improvisations. His original music has been featured on NPR and PBS stations and multiple podcasts. Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) in Jazz Studies from James Madison University, he has recorded and released original music and composed multiple large-scale original works. As an educator, Quentin teaches classes, workshops, and private lessons. He also gives exciting concert-seminars where, at the piano, he emulates and narrates the styles found in jazz’s dynamic history.

A plan was developed for the school building in 2005 but was not carried through. The school could be demolished if a suitable restoration plan is not developed soon. Solution: The Moore Street School Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to saving the Moore Street School, is interested in acquiring the school for a community performing arts training center and event space. The foundation has raised over $200,000 toward that end.
