No matter the amount, 100% of your donation goes directly to pay for participant programming or equine care. A grassroots effort, LUCK has no full- or part-time administrative staff. Yes--we all are volunteers and hire the contractors and specialists we need when our volunteers' expertise is exhausted. WE RUN A VERY LEAN MACHINE and still manage hundreds of opportunities for youth from under resourced areas of Cuyahoga County every year.The USEF and all areas of equestrian industries are taking inclusivity seriously--LUCK started taking it very seriously in 2016 when distrust, lack of constructive communication, and absence of shared understanding caused by the widening of economic and social justice gaps in Cleveland neighborhoods resulted in conflicts between authority figures and youth that often ended in tragedy. While LUCK's initial vision of working with Cleveland's Mounted Police Unit, youth, and their equine partners was dashed, we refocused to broaden our scope. Eight years later we are still here, reaching as many children as possible and, based on their testimonies, impacting lives.
