Step into a world of glitz, glamour, and the enchanting transition from silent films to the golden age of talkies with PCA’s spectacular second annual spring musical, Singin’ in the Rain. This classic tale, which has captured hearts for generations, comes to life on our stage, bringing laughter, awe-inspiring dance numbers, and an unforgettable story that promises to be a treat for all ages. For the past five months, our dedicated students have poured their passion, talent, and tireless effort into creating a production that will leave you humming the tunes and tapping your feet long after the curtain falls. Their commitment shines brightly, offering an experience that epitomizes the spirit and determination of PCA's burgeoning performing arts program. Prepare to be whisked away to the roaring twenties, where the charm of silent films grapples with the dawn of a new cinematic era. Audiences will be riveted by the tale of Don Lockwood, a film star at the pinnacle of his career faced with the challenge and hilarity of transitioning to talkies. Portrayed by the exceptionally talented Aaron Powers, Don’s journey is one of humor, romance, and resilience. Joining Aaron on stage is Violet Mizener as the captivating Kathy Selden, whose enchanting voice and presence light up the stage, and the incredibly talented Wesley Anderson as the hilarious Cosmo Brown. Witness the stage debut of Lydia Nirella, who brings an unforgettable performance as the hilariously untalented Lina Lamont. Ewan Maxwell steps into the shoes of Dexter, the visionary director navigating the tumultuous waters of changing times, and Caliph Gloster rounds out this stellar cast as R. F. Simpson, the ambitious studio boss steering his ship through uncharted territories. Singin’ in the Rain at PCA is more than just a musical; it’s a celebration of hard work, artistic expression, and the joy of bringing a community together through the power of performance. Expect to laugh, be moved, and marvel at the dazzling dance routines that have become synonymous with this timeless story. Don’t miss this opportunity to support the stars of tomorrow today!
