Empty Bowl at SSFS 2023 will be held in the Westview Dining Hall. Come share a simple meal of soup and bread with friends, and choose a special ceramic bowl, handmade by students, families and community members!
There will also be a silent auction of our most exciting ceramic creations and musical entertainment!
100% if proceeds go will go to FEEDING AMERICA!
In 2005, a small group of teachers and parents brought the Empty Bowl Project to Sandy Spring Friends School. The goal of the project is to:
- Create lasting social change
- Raise awareness of world hunger
- Collect money to support programs to feed the hungry
- Build community
In the years since the SSFS community began the Empty Bowl Project, the School has hosted 7 dinners, raising more than $50,000 to feed the hungry in our area. These efforts have been supported by hundreds of volunteers from our community who have created thousands of beautiful, hand-painted bowls, and local restaurants and volunteer chefs who have provided thousands of servings of soup and bread.
Tickets to the Empty Bowl Dinner may be pre-purchased here, or at the door on the day of the event.
Unable to attend? Purchase a virtual ticket and pick up your handmade bowl on campus.
