The goal is to show that behavioral health is essential to the health of our communities, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people do recover. This year we will celebrate the 34th Anniversary of National Recovery Month. As a part of National Recovery Month, the state of Texas hosts its annual <a href="https://bigtexasrallyforrecovery.org/dallas/" target="_blank">Big Texas Rally for Recovery (BTRR)</a>. For over a decade, the Rally has “traveled” to Austin, Houston, Dallas, Galveston and San Antonio. Featured speakers have included Greg Williams, Tara Conner, Mackenzie Phillips, William C. Moyers, Brian Cuban, Michael Botticelli, Danny Trejo, Carol Lucky, Commissioner Theresa Daniel, and Commissioner John W. Price. On September 09,2023, Dallas Ft. Worth will host advocates, peers, friends and families across the state of Texas for a day filled with fun as we celebrate the 14th Anniversary of the Big Texas Rally for Recovery. We will gather for this year’s rally in the Fair Park community. In light of the gathering place and historical purpose of the Rally, this year’s theme is “Recovery Reunion Under the Sun.” The theme highlights our goal to educate the community about recovery, diminish the stigma around substance use and mental health challenges, and amplify the voices of people in recovery across the nation. The Big Texas Rally for Recovery serves as an opportunity to show that recovery is a reality for thousands in Texas, that recovery flourishes in supportive communities. We need your support to make this the best Big Texas Rally for Recovery yet! No matter the level of contribution, we value your support in advancing health, wellness, and recovery in communities nationwide.
