Adiel is a student of Political Science and Middle East Studies at Tel Aviv University, and has served in the IDF during the first two months of the current Israel-Hamas war. Adiel will discuss the events of Oct. 7th and the subsequent war through his own lived experiences on duty, including footage from the sites of the massacre and the battlefield. The talk aims to highlight the atrocities committed by Hamas on Oct. 7th, as well as the solidarity and resilience shown during these hard times. Adiel will also discuss his broader work in educating the world about Jewish identity and diversity, Israeli society and history, and antisemitism in the age of social media. This is an invite-only event occurring in a private residence in Downtown Manhattan (address provided after registration). Please do not share the invitation, unless given permission by Ruben Shimonov. Sephardic appetizers will be served. We will begin with a spirited Sephardic Havdalah service.  This event is co-sponsored by Mosaic United, Rina and Albert Dweck in memory of Maurice J Azizo (Moshe ben Rachel z"l), Carole Basri, and Ezra and Michelle Mosseri in honor of the brave soldiers defending Israel. The program is part of ASF's Sephardi House initiative engaging college students and young professionals in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
