Come join us for the second annual St. Hubert's trial, sponsored by Eukanuba, OnX Hunt, and Upland Gun Company. This year will be better than ever with more space in the Hunter's class, custom T-shirts, and activities. The spirit of camaraderie will remain the same.
St. Hubert’s trials are common in Europe but new to the U.S. There will be Hunter’s classes and a Trialer’s class (more emphasis on clean birdwork) within the Pointing division. The Flushing dogs will also have a Hunter's class and a Trialer's class. A champion and reserve champion will be named for each class on Saturday and Sunday. All teams with a minimum score of 60 points will be awarded the title of Practical Hunting Dog.
Judges:
Hunter's Class – Pointing Dogs: Nick Adair, host of the Gun Dog It Yourself Podcast & Nick Larson, host of the Birdshot Podcast
Trialer's Class – Pointing Dogs: Jake Bartells, Senior NAVHDA Judge
Hunter's Class – Flushing Dogs: Bob Owens, owner of Lone Duck
Trialer's Class – Flushing Dogs: John Huddleston, owner of Over the Mountain Kennel
Each run is scored separately – you can either run your dog one day or both days. Chukar will be used in this test and each handler will carry a shotgun and shoot game themselves. More information on specific rules and how the categories are judged can be found on the Facebook group (Saint Hubert Gundog Championship (America)).
For insurance purposes, all participants are required to be Bird Dog Society members. If you are not a BDS member, please join here before registering.
