It is rooted in Christian values and it has the Patron Saint Martin de Porres of Peru as its guide. Today their daughter, Maria Verwiel, continues their tradition. The proceeds from the Gala will support the educational, social, and emotional needs of the children and families the MDP Society serves in the Savannah area. Among many things, the Society offers free in-school tutoring, free summer camp for underserved children, and a Christmas Blessings event where we share a meal, celebrate and share the love of Christ and give gifts to over 180 children each year.&nbsp; Please join us for a night of fun which includes dinner, live auction and dancing with the Savannah favorite, the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, all to benefit these beautiful children. To paraphrase the poet Gabriela Mistral &ldquo; The child&rsquo;s name is today.&rdquo;&nbsp; We thank you for joining us.&nbsp;
