The 1st Annual Herd and Hops Beer Mile is a spirited, community-driven race that blends athleticism, fun, and West Virginia&rsquo;s craft beer scene. Presented by the Marshall University Southern Coalfields Alumni Big Green Club and hosted by The Freefolk Brewery, the race will include a one-mile relay with a beer pit stop along the way! Each team member will run or walk 1/4 mile and chug a beer. Every mile supports the mission to fund college scholarships for local students. The Southern Coalfields Club supports scholarships for students from Fayette, Summers, Raleigh and Wyoming Counties who attend Marshall University.&nbsp; Nestled in the heart of the New River Gorge, The Freefolk Brewery celebrates Appalachian culture and is proud to show people from all over the nation and world what a beautiful, friendly place they call home. Freefolk is dedicated to balancing success while serving the community! We invite you to gather a team of four -or- by popular demand, be a one-person team or there is virtual option!
