Wednesday, June 11, the Pitser Garrison Convention Center will hold approximately 200 East Texas city, county, and state law enforcement staff, probation services, child protective services, school counselors, medical staff, direct service agency staff, and community members that are learning more about helping victims in the East Texas area. The 6th annual one-day event features topics on a survivor&#39;s experience of rape and taking back her power; community collaboration: a best practice approach; understanding the complexities of brain injuries and concussions in intimate partner violence; identifying and responding to victims of human trafficking in Texas and more. The training will focus on the critical information officers, advocates, medical examiners, prosecutors and others must gather in order to successfully prosecute these types of cases. Law enforcement also receives 8 TCOLE hours for continued certifications. Texas attorneys (State Bar of Texas) receive 6.25 hours of continued legal education credits. Medical professionals receive 7 hours of continued nursing education credits.&nbsp;
