<ul><li>Are you looking for mentorship in how to combine your faith with your love for climbing?  </li><li>Do you want to explore practical ways to connect with climbers and deepen relationships with your existing climbing partners?</li><li>Do you love climbing so much that you (want to) live out of your vehicle for days, weeks, or months at a time?</li><li>Do you want to clip bolts in Wyoming for a week?</li></ul>Kristin Anderson and Wilson McKay have a heart for climbers and for sharing the hope of Jesus with the community that they have come to love so dearly. As former and current “dirtbags”, they have spent extensive time with climbers on the road and in their home climbing communities. Through a combined 30 years of climbing experience, Kristin and Wilson have examined how to effectively build relationships that offer opportunities to share who Jesus is.   They started praying through the idea of organizing a week of ministry mentorship during the summer of 2023, then piloted a climbing ministry camp in Wyoming last summer.  Recognizing that sharing the good news with climbers is not an exact science, Wilson and Kristin desire to explore the crux of climbing ministry from all angles. They hope that this week will serve as a launchpad and encouragement for those seeking to shine the light of Jesus among climbers. Project Crux is designed to mentor, encourage &amp; equip climbers who follow the way of Jesus to intentionally live out their faith in the climbing community. With a foundation of prayer, we will challenge ourselves to grow closer to God and to study climbing community and culture.  We will employ a round-table format to seek to understand climbers and explore the need for ministry in that space. We will discuss what it means to be fluent and authentic in climbing culture, and look to scripture to learn what it means to be a light to this community.  Looking to Jesus as a model of relational ministry, we will spend the second half of the week projecting this crux by immersing ourselves in climbing culture and engaging with climbers.  We will spend time praying, climbing, and loving the climbers in our path.
