ANARC Stewards Training<hr />ANARC Stewards Training, the innovative off-road skills training event, returns for 2026. Stewards Training provides a framework of core course experiences that are designed to maximize a participant’s experiential learning that can be taken back to the clubs they represent. The intent is that the Stewards will assume the role of educator and leader in the principles learned during the Stewards Training. <ul><li>Location: Cole Learning Center, Tularosa, New Mexico</li><li>Dates: April 15 - 19, 2026</li><li>Participants: Limited to 50 registrants</li><li>Cost: $1,250 per person</li></ul> The purpose of Stewards Training to develop capable, safety-minded, and community-oriented off-road leaders who exemplify the core values of ANARC and represent their clubs with professionalism and integrity. Our goal is to maximize your hands-on training experience. The groundwork you do beforehand—reviewing safety materials, completing certifications, and familiarizing yourself with recovery systems—ensures that we spend our time together refining skills, not introducing them. Your preparation is a reflection of your commitment to stewardship. Core Goals:<ol><li>Technical Mastery – Apply safe, efficient recovery and driving practices consistent with I4WDTA and Safe-Xtract standards.</li><li>Leadership &amp; Communication – Strengthen decision-making, team coordination, and radio discipline.</li><li>Stewardship &amp; Responsibility – Champion environmental ethics, inclusivity, and respect for the land.</li><li>Preparedness – Arrive informed and ready to engage. The closest airport is El Paso, TX (about 1.5 hrs drive), with Albequerque, NM next closest (about 2.5 hrs). All participants are expected to arrive and set up their own camp. Camp gear may be shipped prior to the event, or brought by the participant via checked baggage. Any participant without a vehicle will be paired with a onsite vehicle.  This event represents a significant investment in our community's skills and knowledge. Safe-Xtract and BB4WA are contributing gifts in kind to keep the cost of this training event far below other off-road training opportunities.
