Entry fee for One (1) Scarecrow Kit

Participation:The contest is open to all businesses, schools, churches, civic clubs, non-profits, individuals and families. Registration &amp; Entry Fee:No applications will be accepted after this date. Participants must submit a completed entry form with a nonrefundable $50 entry fee for one scarecrow kit* (cash, online credit card, check or money order payable to the Goffstown Main Street Program). Entry forms are available below or at the Main Street office at 4 Main Street Suite 2, Goffstown. Businesses in the designated area will have first choice for the spot directly in front of their business; all other spots are assigned on a first- come, first served basis. No electrical hook-ups available. Scarecrow Kit:Scarecrow kit consists of burlap sack to be used for the face and two cross bars &ndash; one for the body and one for the arms. Theme: &nbsp;America250 Patriotism.&nbsp;All scarecrows/displays should be decorated using the Regatta theme. Entry/Display Signage:Each participant will receive a numbered sign for voting. This sign must be clearly displayed with your scarecrow. Signs must be picked up from Goffstown Main Street Program along with the Scarecrow Kit prior to set-up. Set-up and Removal:&bull; Set-Up Window: Thursday, October 1, 2026 &ndash; Monday, October 5, 2026&bull; All scarecrows must be set-up by Monday, October 5th by 6PM and remain on display for the full duration of the contest.&bull; All Scarecrows must be removed anytime between Sunday November 1, 2026 and Sunday November 8, 2026. Any scarecrow not removed by the end of the day November 8, 2026 will become property of the GMSP and are subject to a $100 disposal fee. Voting &amp; Judging Format:All judging will be done by YOU, the community by close of the Pumpkin Regatta. Winners &ndash; Voted by the Community:Each scarecrow will have a number assigned and displayed at the scarecrow for easy voting. &nbsp;First, Second and Third place awards will be given. &nbsp;Each entry will be given an online link to share for voting and it will also be published on the GMSP facebook page. Construction Guidelines:&bull; All scarecrows must be handmade &mdash; no commercially purchased scarecrow, rubber masks, or pre-purchased characters allowed. &nbsp;Commercial costumes are allowed. &nbsp;All scarecrows/displays should be decorated using the Regatta theme, 250America Patriotism&bull; Scarecrows must use the &ldquo;kit&rdquo; provided by GMSP. Additional materials used must be durable and securely attached to withstand weather.&bull; Living materials are allowed, but perishable items (like cut pumpkins) may not last the full month.&bull; Additional props such as hay bales or corn shucks are permitted if contained within your assigned space. NO LOOSE hay or straw.&bull; It is important to keep a watchful eye on your scarecrow during the month of October. It may need occasional repairs due to weather conditions. We want our downtown area to look nice throughout the entire month. You may be contacted if notable repairs need to be made. If left unattended with subsequent damage, yourscarecrow becomes the property of the GMSP and will be removed, and a $100 disposal fee will be charged.&bull; A member of GMSP will verify the scarecrow is securely attached to the designated lamp post. Beyond the assigned post, nothing may be attached to trees, benches, monuments&bull; No stakes, spikes, or poles may be driven into the ground. Use of surface anchors such as sand buckets are allowed. Limitations:Scarecrow sites will be limited to the space directly in front of the designated lamp post and should not be taller than 10ft. The scarecrow frame provided is 6 ft. Those exhibits who do not meet the size limitations WILL NOT be judged. Exhibits may contain more than 1 scarecrow as long as they fit into the allotted space. Scarecrows must not obstruct or impede pedestrian or vehicle traffic. Scarecrows must be in good taste and should follow the theme of the Pumpkin Regatta &ndash; Alice in Wonderland. They cannot be gruesome, bloody or scary and cannot reflect controversial social or political situations. We reserve the right to deny entry privileges of displays to be considered offensive or not &ldquo;family friendly&rdquo;. Business entries may contain advertising and only one entry is allowed per business. Winners Announcement:Winners will be announced on Friday, October 30, 2026 after votes have been tallied. Results will be posted on the GMSP website, the GMSP Facebook Page. The winner will also be notified by telephone.
