Our foundation is a 501(c)(3), so every donation you make is 100% tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.&nbsp; This year&#39;s event is Thursday, May 14, 2026&nbsp;at the Ranch at Silver Creek&nbsp;in San Jose. &quot;Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers, dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.&quot; The Kiwanis Turnaround Scholarship program was started 58 years ago, by the Kiwanis Club of East San Jose, now part of the Kiwanis Club of San Jose. Today every Kiwanis Club in Division #12, which is part of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of Kiwanis International participates in this program. The&nbsp;Kiwanis Turnaround Scholarship Program is unique, as our scholarship recipients have overcome tremendous challenges like homelessness, abuse, teen pregnancy, and addictions, to name a few. Yet, they have turned their lives around, defying the odds and fought hard to achieve their high school diploma or attain their G.E.D..&nbsp; Kiwanis believes that everyone deserves a second chance! We partner with local high school districts, the Bill Wilson Center, Pacific Clinics and other organizations who help identify these &quot;Turnaround Students.&quot; The Kiwanis Turnaround Scholarship Program&nbsp;provides multi-year financial assistance, providing these students with the resources they need to continue on their educational path. We are blessed to have the support and partnership with The Leo M. Shortino Family Foundation. They are graciously providing &quot;Dollar for Dollar Matching Funds&quot; up to $80,000.
