A Marching/Walking Unit is a group of participants who walk the parade route on foot, without the use of a vehicle, float, or trailer. These units may include bands, drill teams, hālau hula, cultural groups, sports teams, schools, clubs, or community organizations. Performances such as music, dance, or coordinated routines are encouraged, but not required.
A Mobile Unit is any parade entry featuring a motorized vehicle, including floats or trailers, cars, vans, pick-up trucks, motorcycles, heavy equipment, or first responder vehicles. Entries may represent businesses, community organizations, cultural groups, government agencies, or other participating organizations. Vehicles may be decorated or themed in keeping with the parade.
A Mounted Unit is any parade entry featuring participants on horseback or other ridden animals. Riders may be individuals or groups representing cultural traditions, rodeo clubs, equestrian associations, or community organizations. Animals may be costumed or decorated, but must always be handled with care and respect.
Combination of any one or more of the above listed units.
