Wednesday, June 10, the Pitser Garrison Convention Center will hold approximately 200 East Texas city, county, and state law enforcement staff, probation services, child protective services, school counselors, medical staff, direct service agency staff, and community members that are learning more about helping victims in the East Texas area. The 7th annual one-day event focuses on the critical information officers, advocates, medical examiners, prosecutors and others must gather in order to prosecute these types of cases successfully. Topics include trauma-informed domestic violence response for first responders; scene safety and strangulation awareness; behavioral analysis and investigative strategies in severe child abuse cases; dominant/primary aggressor determination and avoiding dual arrest through understanding power and control; and a survivor-led perspective on the impact of childhood sexual assault.&nbsp; Law enforcement receives 8 TCOLE hours for continued certifications. Texas attorneys (State Bar of Texas) receive 6.25 hours of continued legal education credits. Medical professionals receive 7 hours of continued nursing education credits.&nbsp;
