PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING The Shape of a Céile Dé Teaching Retreat Céile Dé annual in-person teaching retreats are designed to be intense, deliberately so, in order to create conditions that people are generally unable to manifest by themselves at home and in their everyday lives. Our hope is that this environment will foster a greater ability to recognize one's habitual patterns and to absorb and respond to that which is transmitted in and with the teachings -- and that some of those effects will travel home with each retreatant. Typically:<ul><li>Days begin with meditation before breakfast.</li><li>During the morning and afternoon, several hour-long sessions are devoted to teachings and to sharing insights and experiences related to the teachings, with breaks for silent reflection in between.</li><li>We try to locate our retreats at venues with extensive grounds and include time in each day's schedule to engage with Nature, God's first scripture.</li><li>There is another meditation or some other spiritual practice at midday and again before dinner.</li><li>Usually, there is some free time after dinner, followed by optional evening sessions that give retreatants the choice to rest a little -- or stay engaged.</li><li>Every day ends with a meditation around 9 pm, after which we go straight to bed, in the Great Silence, and hope for rich dreams after a day filled with soul nourishment.</li></ul>We aim to hold silence at all times outside of sessions. Our annual gathering is a ‘Teaching Retreat’, because it is residential, the teaching sessions are supported by contemplative practices throughout the day, and a peaceful silence is held at all times between teaching sessions and meals in order to support absorption of the powerful energies transmitted during teachings and practices. Mercy by the Sea Retreat and Conference Center and Seascape House167 Neck Rd, Madison, CT 06443 Click <a href="https://www.mercybythesea.org/driving-directions/" target="_blank">HERE</a>  for directions by plane, train, and car.  Our retreat begins with dinner on Sunday at 5:30 pm Meals: Mercy by the Sea Retreat Center prepares simple, healthy meals using local and organic produce as much as possible. Vegetarian options are available at all meals, but other dietary restrictions (e.g. vegan, gluten-free, or nut-free) cannot be accommodated with special meals. Guests with specific dietary needs are welcome to bring their own food items. A guest refrigerator and microwave are available. Meals are taken in the Main Building, which is a short outdoor walk across level ground from our meeting space in Seascape.  Special  menus for individuals cannot be created. Guests who have extensive food limitations or require vegan or gluten-free meals, are allergic to nuts, gluten or other foods, especially those with severe allergies or with specific dietary restrictions may supplement the offerings with their own special items or bring prepared foods. The Center does not have the ability to provide for medically necessary diets, such as allergy-free diets; personal preferences; or diets designed for individual weight loss. However, a guest refrigerator and microwave are available for this purpose. Meals included are dinner on the night of arrival through breakfast on the day of departure at the following times:  5:30-6:15pm Dinner, 8:00-8:45am Breakfast, 12:00-12:45pm Lunch.  Meeting Space &amp; Accommodations  We have rented their Seascape House (see photo on registration page). Seascape is separate from the main building. The house offers an intimate environment set apart for uninterrupted group process. We plan to use the Great Room in Seascape as our meeting space.  Guests take meals in the McAuley Dining Room, located just across the lawn in the Main Building.  We are offering both single and shared rooms this year.  Shared Rooms: Seascape has seven shared (double) rooms for $480 per person including all meals. We encourage you to share so we can fill up theses Seascape rooms. We ask that both parties sharing a room name each other as roommates on your registration form, if possible. It may not always be possible to put you in a shared room; it depends on whether a roommate is available. Accessible, first floor rooms in Seascape are available for those with mobility challenges. Single en-suite rooms are very limited and available on a first come, first served basis, in the Main House for $700 including all meals. The single rooms in the main building are on the second floor but most are accessible by elevator. Waiting List: Places are limited. If the waiting list is in operation and you wish to register, please add your name to the list, and we will contact you if a place becomes available.  Ongoing Community   Newcomers will have the opportunity for ongoing study and spiritual practice within existing Céile Dé groups that offer a powerful container for those who seek a path that invites commitment and openness to real inner change.
