Anelakai Adventures Night Manta Canoe Adventure for 2 ($378)
$125
auctionV2.input.startingBid
Valued at $378, Anelakai's double-hull canoes let you snorkel with manta rays in a whole different way — in a small group, and at your own pace. You can either snorkel with the manta rays or relax and enjoy the view from the canoe without even getting in the water.
"Book a tour and join us as we slip out into the dark ocean from Keauhou Bay, then paddle a very short 10 minute paddle out to the manta ray night snorkel site. You’ll get as much time as you can with the mantas, and then take just a short trip back at the end of your adventure.
That’s right. We use paddle-power—no motors at all. That makes us the most eco-friendly tour available. It’s better for the mantas... and also keeps the diesel fuel smell out of your clothes and hair.
We only allow six people per tour, so you will have the undivided attention of both our guide and the mantas. Plus our double-hull canoe gives you an authentic Hawaiian experience unlike any other.
You’ll feel like a true Hawaiian as you come face to face with one of the ocean’s most majestic wonders. The rays swim right up to the light between the two hulls of our canoe and fearlessly interact with you, allowing a perfect view you won’t get anywhere else.
Skip the big crowds and go for a local Hawaiian experience — there’s no better way to meet mantas than on an Anelakai Adventures night manta ray snorkel in Kona!"

Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi (chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.
A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.
Michelle Baydo, L.Ac. MSOM is a licensed acupuncturist on the Big Island of Hawaii serving patients in both Kona and Waimea. She studied Oriental Medicine at the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii, a nationally accredited, four-year post-graduate program. While there, she completed an additional four-year apprenticeship program under Dr. Chieko Maekawa.

Valerie Yong Ock Kim grew up in rural Kahalu`u on the Hawaiian island of O`ahu. She is the third generation descended from Okinawan and Korean immigrants to Hawaii. Pursuing work with a wide spectrum of the arts over the years, she produced slide shows and small films and has always come back to the still image.
She has had solo, and been included in juried group exhibitions, across the US, from Hawai’i and Los Angeles to Rhode Island and Paris. Her series, “Light Speed Matter, A Still Place Waiting” was a solo show at Hui No`eau Visual Arts Center Makawao, Maui, idspace at Kurtistown, and at Keck Observatory on Hawaii Island. The show included a seven-minute video piece and kiln-fired photographic cast glass pieces. Her most recent solo exhibition, "Passing Notes, Conversations from the Hallelujah Series," was at Crafton Hills College, California.
Kim was the writer-director on “Waging Peace,” a short film about Soviet and American children who, struggling against situation and prejudice, become staunch friends at the end of the Cold War in the 1980’s. Valerie worked as a Location Manager on feature films out of Los Angeles and across the United States for twenty years. She worked with Oscar-winning Directors Ang Lee, and Julie Taymor, and on Gore Verbinski’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” series. Handling the demands of powerful creatives and large-scale projects, Kim supported her independent artistic vision. Her filmography is listed on IMDB.com
After caring for her husband, who was a film editor and had Alzheimer's Disease for eight years, she now lives in Pa'auilo, on Hawai'i Island with her dog, Makana. Retiring from films, she is now focused on her fine art practice.

Kumu 1, by Wailehua Gray ($1600 Value)
$400
auctionV2.input.startingBid
Details:
30” X 23”
Acrylic on 300 lb. Archer Paper
Painted at studio in Kapulena in 1999, this is the first in a small series telling the story of the myths and legends of Hawaii from the Kumulipo.
Wailehua Gray lived and painted in Kapulena, on the Big Island of Hawaii near Waipio Valley among the spirits of his ancestors. His father was an Irishman from Tennessee and his mother was pure Hawaiian born on Oahu, Hawaii. It was the east/west marriage that sparked his strong focus on universality, a common theme throughout his paintings and the stories that accompany them.
In 1996 Wailehua completed “Lokahi”, a large mural for the North Hawaii Community Hospital.
He had two ongoing series, “Nembutsu”, which is quiet and contemplative and “Pele” which explores the fiery and continuing birth of the Islands.
On June 7, 2005 Wailehua joined his ancestors.
This is Wailehua’s Philosophy
“This work is what I do, what I know and feel,
And in a sense it is who I am.
Not to be doing this would be strangely unpleasant.
I live and work in a magic place
Where spirits walk and things go bump in the night.
But the days are perfect through their changes,
Giving me an east/west light that’s just right.
Images come easy in that environment.”
My philosophy is for a universal people.
“We are from the stars.
Keepers of the flame.”
Wailehua’s paintings are hung in many private and corporate collections in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.

Bonsai 3 Feet 6 Inches Tall ($350 Value)
$120
auctionV2.input.startingBid
This Ficus Tree was found one day in June of 2012, I was one of a dozen of a Mankind Group from Kohala that came to the existing Hāmākua Youth Center for an up-lift. Keith W. and I installed a wood counter and a sink. We all then went to the backyard to clean up and that is when this tree found me. It was 16 feet tall in a 10 gal. nursery pot, not a leaf on it, so I cut it down to 6 feet and put it in my car.
6 years later I met Jack Zimmerman at my home in Waimea, and he wanted to see my Bonsai collection. We walked the garden, talked story, and told me where he lived in Honokaʻa and at that point I introduced Jack to this tree. I told him the story of where it came from and that’s when he told me that he was President of the Hāmākua Youth Foundation and told me about the restoration of the Okada Medical Center into the New Community Center for the Hāmākua Youth Center. I started working with Jack and the Foundation to try and make that happen. We proceeded to become wonderful friends along with Teri Sugg, and many, many others.
This tree has been in Waikoloa for the past 5 years and gets watered twice a day. It’s new home will take some adjustments, mainly the watering, sun exposure. It will want to be moist at all times.
