Last year’s Freedom Area High School’s Inaugural Alumni-Only Science Conference was a surprising success, despite occurring on one of the worst cold snaps we have experienced in the last decade. Regardless, about 30 alumni were able to attend with about another 20 alumni having to cancel due to driving conditions. It is our hope that this year’s event will have better weather.  The feedback we received last year was to keep what worked well, while this years’ planning committee wants to make the event even better. This includes adding a post-meeting get together after the conference at some establishment (maybe a local tavern).  What we need to continue with the planning is a head count for who is attending the conference and who is interested in meeting after the conference. In addition, we also would like to know what role you would like to play at the conference (presenter, attendee, helper, mentor, etc.) and what you hope to get out of it (networking, job prospects, sense of community, guidance, staying current in STEM, reconnecting, panel discussion, poster session, etc.).  Best,Brian M.
