As a member, you are now part of a dedicated community of individuals passionate about our cause. Our mission is to honor the memory and life of nurses in our region who has passed away. UniformThe Nurses Honor Guard uniform consists of a white uniform (dress or top/pants), white cap, and a blue cape with red lining. Shoes/socks/hosiery are to be white. The uniform must be professional in appearance (clean, stain and wrinkle free).<ul><li style="box-sizing:inherit">Currently, we have the option to purchase capes for $60.00 plus shipping from an independent seamstress associated with the Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard. Please reach out to Amy Hopson/Mychal Perkins if you choose to obtain your cape in this manner. </li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">You can also have someone make the cape for you. The following lists the pattern, fabric, and accessories that must be used if you choose this route. Annual Membership Fee An annual membership fee of $30 will be collected from each Nurses Honor Guard Member.  The purpose of this fee is to help support any supplies needed for ceremonies. The Ballad Foundation has agreed to manage any monies collected/donated at no charge.   Any monies collected via membership and/or donations will be used for supplies necessary to perform ceremonies such as nightingale lamps, flowers, bibles, etc.  A financial accounting will be given each month at the Nurses Honor Guard meeting to include membership fees paid, expenses paid (itemized) and listing of any donations received. Monthly MeetingsAt this time, we offer virtual meeting participation via Microsoft Teams.Recruitment EventsWe plan to hold recruitment events at area hospitals and other out-patient settings.  As we gain more volunteers, we will be able to reach out to more settings within our region.  We will also participate in local parades and other community events that will allow us to promote the services we can provide and recruit more volunteers.Please reach out if you have any questions!
