Wednesday, April 24, 2024 is International Denim Day. Denim Day is the day we stand solidarity with sexual assault survivors. It represents the day women in Italy wore jeans to protest the Italian Supreme Court's overturning of a rape conviction of an assailant because the victim had been wearing tight jeans.  We will be asking colleagues to wear jeans with a $5 donation to our rape crisis center, Metro East Every Survivor Counts. Metro East ESC provides free legal and medical advocacy and counseling services to survivors of sexual assault in St. Clair and Madison Counties.
