Kevin Smith, Recycling Coordinator, will narrate an intriguing update about the beneﬁts and challenges of managing a county landﬁll. On any given day, an average of 3,500 tons of rubbish is collected and taken to the Cocoa landﬁll. With demand at an all-time high and space in short supply, learn how technology plays a vital role to increase resell and reuse of recycled products. Along the tour we will make a stop at the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling Center where participants can see ﬁrst hand items that can, and cannot, be recycled. If you feel like you need an encyclopedia each time you approach your recycle bin, The Brevard County Recyclopedia might make your Good Reads list. Have a quick read before to increase your chances to earn a prize at our Recycle This, Not That activity during lunch.
