Jacob's Generation Summer Camps (Middle and High School) will be held from June 23-28 in the beautiful Austrian Alps! This Christian youth camp experience will strengthen teens in their faith, providing opportunities for teaching and small group discussion and dynamic worship services. Each day, the youth will have group outings that include hiking, bike trips (with a gelato stop), swimming, boating and all kinds of recreational opportunities. They will also be able to choose from MANY different activities such as sports, arts and crafts, games, drama team, teen talent show, a songwriting workshop, a baking and sugar cookie decorating class, a STEM project and competition (building a working model roller coaster), photography (with drone workshop) and much more! This is an opportunity like no other to learn about and worship the God of Creation in the midst of one of the most phenomenally beautiful places on Earth!  Please note: if you are registering multiple students, each student requires a separate registration and ticket. Here is some important information about the event. 1. Transportation: We do have RT bus transportation from several major military communities in Europe to the camp facility. Although we fundraise about 75% of the total cost of the bus to keep your costs low, we ask the parents to purchase a ticket for the bus which is only $30 round trip. This is to ensure that we have a seat reserved for each student who needs to take the bus and that the family does not decide to skip the bus in favor of dropping the student off without notifying us. We usually have a waiting list for the bus so you can get your ticket refunded if you decide to drop your student off instead -- that will open up a seat for someone else. We have vans that serve N. Italy and arrangements will be made for students in remote locations (Belgium, Poland, Netherlands, UK and Sicily, Italy). Cancellations: Space is very limited at the camps and we must prepay your child's room and board at the facility. Because of this, we ask that, if you have to cancel, you do so by June 1 to ensure we can make that spot available to someone else or not pay the facility for a spot that will not be used. A full refund is available if you have to cancel and do so by June 1 and after if the family is facing an emergency or an unexpected PCS move that conflicts. 3. T-shirts: As noted in the registration, the purchase of a T-shirt ($15) is required in advance of June 1st through our website: <a>www.JacobsGen.org/shop</a> or through the QR code below. 4. Activities: There is plenty to do at our camps! We are offering more and greater variety of activities this year than ever before. There are two optional activities that your child can participate in if they choose to. There will be other activities offered if they choose not to. However, to ensure we do not increase the camp costs for everyone, we ask you pay for that camp activity separately. This can be done anytime between now and June 1. As with all of our reservations, as is typical in Europe, we must prepay our vendors so we ask that all activities be paid for by midnight (CET) on June 1. Please note that activities cannot be added on at the camp and refunds if the child changes his/her mind are not permitted because we will have already reserved our numbers and paid for their spot. These additional activities are:A. Lakeside E-bike ride with gelato stop ($12 covers bike rental and 2 scoops of gelato)B. Lake boat cruise ($10 - this is a full scenic boat excursion on a large vessel that holds up to 200 people, not a small speed boat! It is very safe and scenic with incredible views of the villages, lake and mountains.Please note that your child will not "miss" any other activity if they choose to do an optional activity. Concessions: This is a cashless camp, implemented for the first time this year. We will only accept pre-payments for t-shirts and activities through our website. We have a large shop "Jacob's General Store" where we sell concessions, trinkets and souvenirs. This also is cashless. You can prepurchase a punch card through our website in several different amounts. If your student needs a "refill" of their punch card, they can call or text you from one of the worker's phones and you can purchase the additional amount on our website. Each punch card has your child's name, room number and group leader name on it to deter loss or theft. Punch cards are valid only for goods at Jacob's General Store at camp and, although we WILL carry over unused cards to the next camp, we will not be able to issue refunds for unused punches. Parent Letter and Connecting: You will receive a parent letter on or before (if registration is full before) June 1. In this letter will be the exact address of the camp facility (we do not publish it for security issues), In that letter we will also have the bus schedule. Please note that the bus schedule cannot be put out before registration is full (or nearly full) because the locations the bus needs to pick up will changed based on where we have students registered from. We want to be sure the bus schedule we give you is accurate! We have changed our camp start date to a Sunday so that more parents can get their students to the bus stop without having to take time off of work. The return will be on Friday morning (departing Austria) so that the first return stop will be mid-afternoon. We changed our camp schedule to ensure that the majority of parents could easily get their students to and from the scheduled bus stops. Separate Camps: You will see a video on our FB page from our Director explaining why the dates have been selected and why the Middle School Camp and High School Camp will again be the same week in the same location. Please know that we are doing our best, in the midst of holding camps, retreats and events for youth and families around the world, to give your student the best camp experience. With that, we have different schedules for the different age groups. This year, the Middle School will be off-site at activities like hiking, swimming, boat trip while the High School are on site for worship, and vice-versa. This is to ensure that each age group has their own "space" at the camp. it is our hope to return to separate weeks but the inflation in Europe has posed a challenge in keeping the camps affordable and at the level of quality we have striven for.
