Summary:
Many international businesses and NGOs operate in jurisdictions where kidnap risk to employees must be factored into crisis management planning. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview of the kidnap for ransom (KFR) risk and the resources available to assist organizations and their crisis management teams. The discussion will include preventative measures, KFR global trends, and the role of a Response consultant.

Retired from the FBI in 2019 following a 22- year career as an investigator, instructor, negotiator, and crisis manager. Supervised the Boston Division's Joint Terrorism Task Force, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Domestic Terrorism squads.

Operational manager responsible for providing immediate guidance and management on matters of extortive crimes such as kidnap for ransoms, threats of violence, detentions, and piracy. Retired from the FBI in 2017 following a 20-year career as an investigator, negotiator, member of the behavioral analysis unit, and team leader for the FBI’s special weapons and tactics teams. Assisted in developing the U.S governments Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell.
