Performances will be April 25–27 at 7:00 p.m. at Hidden Hollow Elementary.  Charley’s Aunt, by Brandon Thomas, is a classic comedy that follows two young college friends, Jack and Charley, over the course of a day as they attempt to propose to their sweethearts, Kitty and Amy. The young men have invited the young ladies to lunch to meet Charley’s long-lost rich aunt, Donna Lucia, who will conveniently act as chaperone to appease the girls’ overprotective guardian, Mr. Spettigue. The catch—Charley’s aunt has just sent a telegram to say she isn’t coming, and tomorrow the young ladies are being taken away to Scotland. If Jack and Charley can’t find a new chaperone soon, they’ll never get the chance to propose before the young ladies are whisked away, perhaps forever.  Enter their friend, Lord Fancourt Babbington, who is about to play an old lady in an amateur theatrical and just happens to have his costume with him. All is going well, except for the fact that Lord Fancourt has never acted in his life… and he keeps monopolizing the young ladies, who immediately take to this quirky old “woman”… and the complications that arise when Mr. Spettigue and Jack’s father, Sir Francis, both fall in love with the false Donna Lucia (or at least with her large fortune) and decide to propose to her over dinner.  Will Lord Fancourt be able to pull off the role of Charley’s Aunt so that Jack and Charley can propose and love may triumph, or will this “aunt’s” shenanigans spoil everything?
