Allow your child to experience the spring season on nearby Massaro Community Farm, located on the line of Woodbridge and Ansonia. Formerly a dairy operation, the farm has grown vegetables and produced flowers, eggs, and honey for the past 10 years.  This after-school program allows children to visit the farm each Wednesday afternoon to perform garden chores, care for the chickens,  explore the Nature Trail, and learn basic woodland survival skills. The program encourages children to embrace outdoor activities during the spring season.  Mixed ages resemble sibling feel for this small group educational series. All farm staff are fully vaccinated.  6 sessions will take place from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from April 24-May 29  Bussing will be provided from Mead & Prendergast to the farm.If your child does not attend Mead or Prendergast you can drop them off at Massaro around 3:30 pm. Pick up your child at Massaro Farm at 5:30 p.m.

This program runs rain or shine. A suggested change of shoes is recommended because the ground can be wet or muddy. This is very much an outdoor program, weather permitting. We have both indoor and outdoor restrooms and your child may be expected to use our very clean and serviced porta potties while we await the construction of additional outdoor restrooms.
