Gather ‘round the campfire with us to celebrate National S’mores Day!  We’ll be joined by Starla the Storyteller, who captivates audiences with timeless tales that teach history, celebrate culture, inspire creativity and promote moral values. Audiences have called her performances “brilliant,” “enchanting,” and that “Every gesture, every expression, all made [the] story come alive!”  While the origins of National S’mores Day remain unknown, s’more, the great American camping treat, has a long, delicious history. The first mention of such a treat was in the 1920s in a book of recipes published by Campfire Marshmallows, home of the original marshmallow and still in business today. At that time, the recipe was called a ‘Graham Cracker Sandwich’ and suggested the treat had already been made popular by the Boy- and Girl Scouts. You can create your own nature and s’mores themed crafts and of course you’ll make and enjoy your own ooey gooey chocolatey s’mores!
