The Community of Banyakigezi, UK & Ireland, is a UK based organisation that works to bring together people who live and work in the UK with origins from Kigezi, Uganda. The main aim is to facilitate local and international connections, grow local networks and promote the wellbeing of the people that share a common heritage. COB UK & Ireland works in partnership the with the International Community of Banyakigezi (ICOB). There are 4 chapters based in different countries including, USA, Canada and the United Kingdom. ICOB has been organising Annual Conventions for more than 20 years, bringing together Banyakigezi in the diaspora to reconnect and identify issues that affect their community and devise solutions to tackle them. A series of workshops and plenary discussions will explore issues related to this theme with the aim of sharing good practice that be applied to different projects. The Convention Programme will provide opportunities for networking, including a main dinner event, cultural activities and entertainment.
