This concert marks a significant milestone for HMC, as it will serve as Dr. Paulo Gomes's farewell performance as Artistic Director. After years of passionate leadership and artistic innovation, Paulo Gomes, the Brazilian conductor beloved by singers and audiences alike, will conclude his remarkable tenure with this meaningful piece.

Hailed as one of the most profound choral works of our time, The Wound in the Water is a lyrical and emotionally evocative composition. Set to poetry by Euan Tait, the piece addresses the modern environmental and social crises, reflecting deeply on our broken world while calling for unity and healing.
