This class has no prerequisites. Scent work for dogs is a sport that requires your dog to hone in their sense of smell. We start by searching for food then in higher levels moving onto target odors that consist of essential oils. This is the same way detection dogs across the world are taught to alert to bombs, drugs, agricultural items, and medical issues. The goal of this five week course is for dogs to love the game of searching and to build the foundation to be able to find a hidden target odor. Dogs work one at a time, so scent work class is appropriate for dogs who can be grumpy with other dogs. By giving them an outlet to use their brain through something that comes so naturally to them–sniffing–it stimulates them mentally and builds a bond as you work together. One of the best parts about scent work for dogs is that ANY dog can participate. This class is 5 weeks

Behaviors such as jumping, nipping, chewing, barking, potty training are also discussed. This class should be the starting point for any newly adopted dog. This course meets the requirements for the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Program, designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a successful and responsible start.

Saturdays from 10:15-11:00 AM ~ Do you have a Reactive dog on leash? Does your dog bark, lunge, whine, or stress when seeing other dogs, strangers, or both? This class is for you!
Reactive provides owners with critical handling skills so they they are well equipped to deal with challenges that may arise in their communities, and provides dogs with the life skills that they need to exist comfortably and thoughtfully in environments that previous provoked anxiety and heightened arousal levels and reactivity.
