Program: Tour of micro-farm La Fattoria and Omelette Demo by Dame Marla Holmes. From Sarah Dormio, one of the owners of La Fattoria: “La Fattoria is a small family-owned farm. We love our animals like they are part of our family. We are primarily a chicken farm, but are working on expanding in the wool fertilizer industry. We absolutely can’t wait to have everyone visit, so we can share our love of food and animals with you. We have been working on La Fattoria for 6 years now, but our love of animals goes back 30+ years. Our family owns a farm in Italy, and we decided to have something permanent in the US since this is where we live now.” We will have a tour of the farm, with the chance to meet all of the chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and sheep. We will then be treated to an omelette making demo by Dame Marla Holmes, “The Chef in Red,” where she will compare the difference between chicken and duck eggs, as well as share her tips for this most classic of dishes. We will divide into two groups so that it’s never too crowded in the barn and it’s easy to see Marla at the stove. Eggs will be available for purchase. Chicken eggs are $5 per dozen and duck are $5 per half dozen.
