Leif started guiding at the age of 16 in his home town of Maupin, Oregon on the Deschutes River. After graduating from Oregon State University with a Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science, Leif spent the next 15 years working as a Fisheries Biologist for both the Oregon and Washington Departments of Fish and Wildlife. In 2021 Leif and his family moved to Alaska and he returned to his first love, guiding anglers on remote float fishing trips. Leif is currently the Lead Guide and Operational Manager of Fish and Float Alaska. When Leif is not fishing he also enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons hiking, archery hunting, coaching basketball and track, and volunteering at his church.
