Seeds are one of the very few costs the garden has along with compost. We're asking anyone gracious and able to contribute toward the costs of sustainable gardening at PZC.
We have big plans for the garden next year. We are moving to a no-till system and using heirloom and OSSI certified seeds. OSSI (Open Source Seed Initiative) is a movement to use and propagate seeds that you can share freely and can never copyright in an effort to have more varieties and seeds that can be shared and not restricted.
We'll have many plans for vegetables and greens next year, including onion sets and potato seed saved from this year. We would like to plant Heirloom Celery, spinach, chard, chijimisai, Heirloom Choy, carrots, cucumbers, beans and squash, Ossi tomato varieties as well as large tomatoes, leeks, Italian peppers, kale, and lettuce varieties.
Donate to purchase shrubs, grasses, and other perennials for the native garden next to the PZC entrance.
Select multiples of $5; use 'Additional Donation' field for odd numbers.
