Miss Ruthie will teach students the basics of sculpting with clay. Students will learn different sculpting techniques working from photo references or imagination; how to use a variety of clay tools; how to apply different finishes to clay surfaces; and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make several projects throughout this 5-week course, and will glaze as we go. Students are encouraged to bring along their ideas for projects, and notebooks/sketchbooks for note taking and sketching out ideas. Notebooks/sketchbooks are not required, the MAC has plenty of paper to use for these purposes.</p>
