This special immersive experience will illustrate how railroads of the era once handled both passengers and freight on a special combined train. At Alna Center Maine&rsquo;s 103rd Regiment Living History will be encamped. Stop in to learn about the 3rd Maine Regiment, which was raised as a State Guard to protect important parts of infrastructure, such as railroad facilities. Drills and activities will be ongoing throughout the weekend, with a special emphasis placed on how civilians on the home front were affected by and contributed to the war effort. After our layover at the WWI encampment, we&rsquo;ll return back to Sheepscot station where you&rsquo;ll want to explore our railyard, examine our displays, and peruse our gift shop.
