Transmission Vol.5 Pre-Sale and Donations

TRANSMISSION is an all-ages electronic music event in Cincinnati that celebrates queer innovation across sound, technology, and experimental art. With performances by LGBTQ+ musicians, circuit-bending demonstrations, and queer art installations, the event honors the city’s legacy in DIY electronic music and the historical contributions of the trans community to its evolution.

TRANSMISSION is an annual electronic music festival in Cincinnati's Westwood neighborhood that celebrates the Queer history and creative achievements in the electronic music community. This showcase intertwines narratives of gender representation, technology, sound, and avant-garde artistry, serving as a catalyst that pushes the boundaries of traditional music and synthesizer instrument creation.


Central to TRANSMISSION is a lineup of LGBTQ+ musicians who redefine the electronic music spectrum with their diverse and innovative sounds. The event shines a spotlight on the avant-garde artistry of circuit-bending and noise exploration. This celebration of creativity and inclusivity invites enthusiasts, allies, and the curious to immerse themselves in an event that celebrates diversity and the transformative experience of art and music.


TRANSMISSION honors Cincinnati's historical significance as the birthplace of circuit-bending practices. By blending past and present, the event underscores the city’s legacy of innovation in electronic music. The event will also include partnership with other Westwood businesses like TREASURETRONICS and GAME N GROOVE.


The event kicks-off with a fundraiser event at DSNG CLLCTV on May 30th, 7-10pm with a  Circuit-Bent Bazaar at DSNG Collective that will offer a hands-on exploration of circuit-bending, where participants can engage with and purchase modified electronics, showcasing the avant-garde techniques that have defined much of the genre. With an interactive Open-Jack Synth Jam.


A group show at BasketShop Gallery on June 13 spotlights Trans artists through a curated art exhibition that also features zines and artist books courtesy of BasketCat. Bookstore, providing a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of visual arts, literature, and sound from the queer community.


TRANSMISSION’s Main Performance Event takes a center stage at The Westside Venue, June 14th. This year’s lineup includes performances from Lint Lobotomy (Cincinnati, OH), PATIENT COUNCIL (Cincinnati, OH), Motebook (Cincinnati, OH), Strophysicist (Cincinnati, OH) and Safeword (Galveston, TX). This event includes special guest speakers and a surprise Celebrity Host to MC the occasion.


This All-Ages event series serves as a platform for the ongoing exploration of identity, technology, and sound, amplifying diverse voices within the ever-evolving scope of electronic music. As it marks its fifth anniversary, TRANSMISSION remains dedicated to providing a space where experimental art, technology, and marginalized voices can converge, pushing the boundaries of what electronic music and art can be.
