Dear Friends and Members, Spring is coming to Southlands! With Spring comes the annual membership drive. Your Membership donations support the school horses, the riding facilities, the buildings, and the land. &nbsp;Mrs. Dows took pride in the unique qualities of Southlands and its role as a refuge in peoples&rsquo; lives. &nbsp;Now, more than ever. &nbsp; Southlands is open to the public for walking the farm road and beyond, and we always welcome the Ralph Waterman Bird Club for their annual bird counts. We have reopened our therapeutic Samaritan-Daytop program, building confidence and resilience through grooming and working with our school horses. We are always exploring ways to attract new audiences. &nbsp;&nbsp;Although our staff is constantly looking for ways to keep costs down, the maintenance of our operation is very expensive. Your support and Membership go a long way to support the goals and mission of Southlands. &nbsp;In addition, Membership at the Red Ribbon level offers a 10% discount for riding lessons.&nbsp;Please consider checking the box to donate to our horse care fund when you renew your Membership at the appropriate level. Remember that your Membership contribution is tax deductible and that, as a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 entity, we qualify for many corporate matching gift programs.
