The film earned Academy Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress for Daniel Day-Lewis and Brenda Fricker, respectively, and BAFTA Awards for Best Actor and Supporting Actor for Day-Lewis and Ray McAnally (posthumously).  Prior to the screening, guest speakers Dr. Cathal Pratt, Irish Cultural Studies expert from Fordham University, and Grace Barrett, TV Producer for the United Nations and native Dubliner, will present an historical introduction and lead a post-screening discussion.  This program was generously cosponsored by the Hudson Valley Irish Fest, O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home, Francis X Farrell, JP McHale Pest Management, LLC, and The McCarthy Law Firm, P.C.
