The Good Life with Marc Schulz

The Good Life:  Lessons for Life from the World’s Longest Study of Happiness

The talk will describe and highlight research findings from the 86-year old Harvard Study of Adult Development (HSAD), which has closely followed individuals from over 700 families from adolescence until the end of their lives and is now studying the children of those original participants.  HSAD findings and those from other studies point to the critical role of relationships in shaping our happiness and health.  The talk will discuss why relationships are the foundation of the “good life.” Steps that we can all take to improve our relationship health and happiness will also be emphasized.

Marc Schulz is a co-author of the New York Times Bestseller, The Good Life: Lessons from the World’s Longest Scientific Study of Happiness (2023), which is being translated to over 40 languages around the world.  Dr. Schulz is the Associate Director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, an 86-year-old longitudinal study of human flourishing in two generations of individuals from over 700 families. He is also an award-winning Professor of Psychology who holds the Sue Kardas PhD 1971 Professorship in Psychology at Bryn Mawr College and directs Bryn Mawr’s Data Science Program.  He completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at U.C.
