Colorado Discover Ability (CDA) is pleased to announce that our annual fall fundraiser will be held September 8th, 2024 at the Orchard River View in Palisade. The afternoon event will include delicious food from local chefs, wine and spirits, music, and both a silent and live auction!
The Mission of CDA is to increase the independence, self-confidence, self-worth, and education of people with disabilities through outdoor recreation. We have been around since 1980 and started as an adaptive ski-program. Over time, we have grown to include day camps in the summer, for youth and adults, which feature stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, rafting, cycling, and sled hockey. We even have a winter sports race team, Team Powderhorn, which competes in the Special Olympics.
Our office is on the riverfront trail, so we are lucky to have the opportunity to provide outdoor recreation activities just outside our front door. To carry out our programs, CDA maintains, stores, and upgrades all its own adaptive equipment. Along with the cost of equipment, we utilize grant money to support the cost of operating our programs and CDA relies on the money raised during this event so that our participants can continue to enjoy these programs for years to come.
